About
Hello everyone! I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Early on as a child, I was very much into math and science. Everywhere I went, I felt like I had to have a calculator with me because I would love to find the answers to different multiplication and division problems. I also had a science kit with REAL chemicals in it and I used to love making crazy mixtures with them. Thank goodness I never caused any explosions or I would have been in big trouble. As I went through grade school and got older, school made me more and more intimidated about the academic side of math and science.
Along the way, I grew a love for drawing and for the arts as a whole. While I still love math and science, there's this sense of inspiration and freedom I started to feel when I would draw. I could make my own world that lives by its own set of physics. I could draw a universe where 2 + 2 no longer equals 4. The point is it's so liberating! More importantly, I was able to express what was inside of me with no limitations. This was the turning point for me.
In college, I changed my major from a Business major to an Art + Design major with an illustration concentration. As I started drawing more than ever before, I began to develop an aesthetic that I hang my hat on. I also began to appreciate everything about storytelling and children's books in particular. I live in Baltimore, Maryland drawing everyday pursuing the children's book market and illustration as a career.
